High country mule deer hunting with my bow is something that I have really grown to be passionate about. It always takes me into the gnarliest places both in terms of ruggedness and looks. This past 2023 early season was one for the books. Now, I know that is a cliche way of describing something, but to me, it really was. It served up not only adventure and good hunting, but a healthy amount of perspective that I needed in my life. Hence the title of this film that I am so excited to share with you.

Perspective is a film that documents my 2023 archery mule deer season. It spans across two different states and has as many ups and downs as the mountains I’m hunting in. The first leg is me solo in the backountry of Utah. And the second leg I’m joined by my friend and cameraman Dillon Flint.

One of the most beautiful things about hunting to me is the life lessons it comes with. On the surface it’s always looked at as just a means of adventure and bringing meat home. However, there is so much more to it than just that.

Being in the mountains truly brings my mind peace. It sets me back to zero from the city. And I always return a better man to my family whether I have a deer in the cooler or not. This film Perspective is a shining example of that for me personally. It reminds me that some things just aren’t worth worrying about. Embrace the moments you’re a part of, because when they’re gone, they’re gone.

It’s all about Perspective and I got my fair share of that this season. This, I am grateful for.
