This Fall has sure been an eventful one and I couldn’t be more grateful. I just returned from a wicked trip hunting mule deer in the Idaho backcountry. While the trip was rather short, it was a great hunt that ended with a great surprise(hint hint…). And the best part, all of it is on film.

This new film is going to be called “Presence – Mule Deer in the Idaho Backcountry.” It tells the story of my hunt of course, but also explores the importance of not letting life pass by too fast. We’re all so busy these days. There is always something to do and we don’t have time for anything. At least that’s what we tell ourselves. I know I do.

On a personal note, by living too fast, I tend to take things for granted. Things that are quite beautiful are harder to see, because they’re a blur. Like when my wife selflessly surprises me with an afternoon coffee, or when I get a random hug and kiss from my daughter. I even caught myself taking some hunting trips for granted this year. While being surrounded by ultimate beauty, I didn’t want to be there. The mountains are a normal thing for me, but no matter how normal something is in your life, doesn’t make it any less beautiful. “Have Presence and slow down,” is what I often tell myself.

Anyways, here is the teaser for a film I am so excited to share with you in the near future! Keep your eyes out for the full version of the film to release on my Youtube Channel. In the meantime, be sure to check out my early season mule deer film called ABSOLUTE – Solo Backcountry Bowhunting for Mule Deer, which documents a backcountry archery mule deer hunt I did in Utah earlier in 2022. Enjoy!
