Arizona bear hunting is something that I fell in love with many years ago. From the beginning I was hooked. I remember sitting at a water hole, not knowing what I was doing in the least, and having a bear stroll by me. A few years later I’d get my first Arizona bear and the fire inside would burn even brighter. This past October I returned back to the area I got my first bear in and was greeted with a flood of emotions, as well as made new memories. The film of this hunt is called Imprinted, and I am so thrilled to share it with you below.
Imprinted documents not only my hunt, but a good friend of mine Brian’s as well. Brian is a new bear hunter here in Arizona. He’s going through all of the things that I went through in the beginning. Not being able to find bears, learning about their habitats, etc. It was my absolute pleasure to bring him along with me on the hunt and show him the ropes.
Without divulging too much, I want to touch on the title of the film. Imprinted. The experience and road to getting my first bear was one that I hold incredibly dear. It shaped me. It left an imprint on me. Honestly, it changed my life. I might not be sitting here writing this if it weren’t for that first bear. That first bear lead me to getting published for the first time ever and from that point on, writing has become a huge part of my life.
And then there is Brian. I’ve spoken to Brian about this hunt and I think the whole experience left a lasting imprint on him. It showed him, not only the how behind this craft, but that it is possible. Sometimes, when you’re new, things just seem out of reach and you need a little push in the right direction. I was happy to be that little push for Brian.
Before I shove off here on another hunt, I just wanted to express my gratitude. It means the world to me that you take the time to read posts like this and watch films like the one above. Each one I pour my heart into. So, in all seriousness, thank you. You all are the best!
