In order to tap into the more artistic side of things, you’re going to want to know how to compose an image. This involves utilizing your eye, gear, and environment to create compelling footage that folks are drawn to look at.

There really is a whole lot of tricks out there for image composition. We didn’t mention using things like texture or reflection in an image. This is one of the coolest parts about all of this. Imagery tells a story, and while there are rules to help you along the way, you’re ultimately the one in charge. Rules are made to be broken, but it’s good to have a starting point before doing so.
